A contemporary musical and dance adaptation of Leoš Janáček's iconic composition, written 100 years ago. „ And once I saw the city in a miraculous transformation. A glow of freedom, of rebirth, was conjured over the city. And the blast of triumphant trumpets, the shadows of night and the breath of the green mountain and the vision of a certain boom and greatness was born in my Sinfonietta of this knowledge from my city of Brno,“ these are the words of composer Leoš Janáček.

As a choreographer, Martin Dvořák approaches the piece as a dance image of the times we all live in today. The catharsis of Janáček's music stands here as a beacon of safety and a counterpoint to the current social situation full of chaos, manipulation, lies, rudeness and recklessness. The only possible way out of the marasmus of a divided time is to open oneself to dialogue, empathy, one's own sensitivity and the art itself, which comes from the artist's soul. Musician and vocalist Patrik Kee adds four more to Janáček's five musical movements as his own reflection and musical bridge to the present, in which six dancers dare to touch the emotions of a mere hundred spectators in the auditorium of the exclusive space of the Vodojemy on the Yellow Hill or the Memorial on Vítkov in Prague.

The Sinfonietta was founded in 1926 in the atmosphere of preparations for the seventh All-Sokol Gathering. Primarily as a kind of thanksgiving to the composer for the first years of his life in independent Czechoslovakia. However, Leoš Janáček eventually dedicated the score to the soldiers, officially - to the entire Czechoslovak armed forces. And one more celebration is encoded in them. A celebration of Brno.
