What's in store for you?

Communicating Vessels is a collective composition written to suit the acoustically and architecturally unique space of a pair of water towers, whose atmosphere and support an innovative approach to music. The piece thematises the storage of different physical states - from water to air to human thoughts - and highlights how various vessels and their contents are an indispensable part of our everyday lives. Like a jar or a bucket, the human mind functions as a container that can be filled with different contents. What is important, however, is not the quantity, but the depth and the ability to hold the given content, which the musicians symbolically connect to the specific space of the Waterworks.

Authors and performers:

Radim Hanousek - saxophone, bass clarinet

František Chaloupka electric guitar

Ian Mikyska microtonal electric guitar

Kristýna Švihálková drums

Michal Wróblewski - saxophone
